Gift voucher for a massage or physiotherapy — how to choose?

When choosing a massage gift voucher, think about whether the recipient is looking for relaxation or relief for tense muscles, check that they have no contraindications to massage, then choose the service and find out the voucher terms. For relaxation, a relaxing massage (PLN 200) or a hot stone massage (PLN 220) works well; for a tense back – a classic spine massage (PLN 140).

Below you will find tips on which massage to choose for different people, when it is better to give something else, how to buy a voucher step by step and which mistakes to avoid.

Which massage to choose as a gift?

For someone who needs a moment of rest, the most common choice is a relaxing massage (PLN 200) or a hot stone massage (PLN 220), which combines massage with pleasant warmth. For someone who complains of a stiff neck and back after work, a classic spine massage (PLN 140) or a full-body massage (PLN 190) will be better. A gentler option for the back is the Breuss massage (PLN 300).

A good starting point is to ask yourself how the recipient likes to relax. People who value calm and warmth are usually happy to choose a relaxing massage or hot stones – we describe them in our post hot stone massage – what it involves. Active people, those who do physical work or spend long hours sitting at a desk often appreciate a classic massage more, as it focuses on tense muscles. We describe the differences in detail in our post classic or relaxing massage.

When is a massage voucher not a good idea?

A massage voucher will not be a good choice if the recipient has contraindications to massage: they have recently had an injury or surgery, or have thrombosis, a fever, an acute skin condition or uncontrolled heart disease. Massage with heat, such as hot stones, is usually not recommended in pregnancy, with varicose veins or with impaired sensation. If in doubt, it is better to choose a voucher for a set amount or ask the clinic.

If you know that the recipient is struggling with a specific problem – for example back pain radiating into the leg or pain after an injury – a relaxing massage will not solve it. In that case, it makes more sense to give them the chance of a physiotherapy consultation, provided the voucher can also cover physiotherapy services. Pain with warning signs, such as numbness in the groin area, leg weakness or fever, needs a visit to a doctor first.

Also remember that not everyone enjoys being touched by a stranger. If you are not sure whether a massage will be welcome, talk about it beforehand or choose a different gift.

How to buy a gift voucher step by step?

Buying a voucher at the “W zdrowym ciele” clinic can be split into 5 steps: choosing the service or amount, checking the voucher terms, buying it, handing over the voucher and the recipient booking a visit. It is worth confirming the detailed terms – validity, form of the voucher and how to buy it – by phone on 505 417 624 before buying, as they may change.

  1. Choose a service or amount. Use the table above or the current rehabilitation and massage price list.
  2. Check the terms. Ask about the voucher’s validity, its form (paper / electronic) and whether the service can be changed.
  3. Buy the voucher. How
  4. Hand over the voucher together with information on how to book an appointment: via Booksy or on 505 417 624, Mon–Fri 7:00–20:00.
  5. The recipient books a visit and, when booking, mentions their health, pregnancy and any medication, so that the therapist can safely choose the massage.

Good to know: you will find details of the gift voucher on the Gift voucher page – before buying, make sure the terms are up to date.

Can you give a voucher for physiotherapy?

A physiotherapy voucher can be a thoughtful gift for someone who has long been putting off a visit because of back, neck or joint pain. A physiotherapy consultation at the clinic costs PLN 180, and manual therapy also costs PLN 180. Whether the voucher can cover physiotherapy services, not just massages, needs to be confirmed with the clinic before buying.

It is worth remembering that physiotherapy is a healthcare service, not a wellness service. The physiotherapist decides after the assessment what therapy is needed and how many visits will be required – this cannot be determined in advance when buying a voucher. That is why the simplest solution is often to give a first consultation, after which the recipient decides on the next steps themselves. We describe what such a visit looks like in our post your first visit to a physiotherapist.

Which mistakes to avoid when choosing a voucher?

The most common mistakes are choosing a massage without checking whether the recipient has contraindications, giving a relaxing massage to someone with pain that needs diagnosis, buying without checking the validity period and leaving out information on how to book a visit. It is also worth avoiding massage with heat for a pregnant woman and for someone with varicose veins or impaired sensation.

A few practical notes: do not assume that everyone will enjoy a firm massage – many people prefer a gentler touch. If you are buying a voucher for an older person, make sure getting to the clinic in Rydułtowy will not be a problem. Put the expiry date in the recipient’s calendar or remind them of it, so that the voucher does not go to waste.

Summary

A massage gift voucher is best matched to how the recipient likes to relax: a relaxing massage (PLN 200) or hot stones (PLN 220) to unwind, a classic massage (from PLN 110) for tense muscles. Before buying, check for contraindications and the voucher terms, and give the recipient information on booking via Booksy or on 505 417 624.
